We want to list the top five locations in WNC for visitors to explore in the beautiful mountains. Our first location is the Blue Ridge Parkway. Jackson County is home of the last 40 miles on the parkway and includes scenic beauty and the highest point which is at 6,053 feet. If you enjoy hiking or scenic views then the Blue Ridge Parkway should be one item that you do not want to miss out on.

Our second location is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If you love the Blue Ridge Parkway, then the GSMNP is one location you do not want to miss. With more activities to enjoy from bicycling, camping, fishing, hiking, historic buildings, horseback riding, waterfalls, and wildlife viewing there is something everyone in your trip should enjoy.

Our fourth bucket list location is the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. As a main attraction in Jackson County, the GSMR is a perfect bucket list option. With 53 miles of track, 2 tunnels and 25 bridges, this attraction is ideal for anyone who loves the mountains and the railway. Besides just riding the railroad, you can include half-day or full-day trips that include raft and rail excursions, gourmet dinners and mystery theater trains.

Our last but definitely not least location is the wonderful waterfalls of WNC Mountains. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the outdoors and their natural waterfalls. From a large variety of locations to explore, you will have a relaxing place to spend the day.
